02/ Ernte
Ernte—meaning harvest in German—marks a return, a gathering-in of past work and experience. The collection is born from a re-engagement with fabrics first woven for [Your Name]’s graduate collection at the University of the Arts London. Once constructed into garments, these textiles have now been deconstructed and reimagined—patchworked together to form new compositions that speak to renewal, memory, and transformation.
The indigo-dyed fabrics were created using an Ikat technique to disrupt the order of traditional woven designs—stripes, checks, and ginghams unravel into something softer, more elemental. Sheer silk organzine panels punctuate the surfaces, inviting light to pass through and dissolve boundaries between material and air.
In Ernte, the artist reflects on cycles of making and unmaking—on what it means to gather what was once worn, held, or discarded, and to weave it back into being.
